Tadano ATF 65G-4

April 2006
With the arrival of the Tadano ATF 65G-4, it's one in and six to go for Bay Crane Service. The New York City crane service company has ordered a total of seven of the taxi cranes for its fleet.

Considered "the ideal taxi crane" for Bay Crane's operations, the 75-ton all-terrain crane arrived late March. With a five-section boom that extends to 144.5 feet and a double-folding lattice type boom extension from 29.5-52.5 feet, it telescopes out in 230 seconds.

Kenneth  Bernardo, Bay Crane President, says the ATF 65G's compact size, reliability, capacities and boom lengths all combine to make it a favorite with the company's rental and retail customers. Waiting on the other six units to arrive, he says some will go into Bay Crane's rental fleet; others will be retailed to end user contractors and rental houses.

"As a taxi crane, it will see a myriad of different applications in our day-to-day operations," says Bernardo. Most often used for steel erection, the crane has won over Bay Crane's clients for boom speed and swing. The Tadano ATF 650 XL (the 65 ton Predecessor of the ATF 65G-4) had been a staple for  its size range in New York, and the company has 20 units in operation.

With a branch office on Long Island, N.Y., Bay Crane specializes in meeting the diverse lifting and transportation needs of the New York area. The company operates a fleet of cranes up to 440-ton crawler cranes and 600-ton hydraulic cranes. It also offers heavy-haul capabilities up to 1000 tons.
The company has had Tadano machines in its fleet since 1993.

"Undoubtedly, the ATF65G-4 will deliver the same success and reliability that we have grown to expect with the prior ATF650 XL," says Bernardo.
